Being Human Live Notes: Children Shouldn't Play With Undead Things

11:06 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

It's a date, and by that I mean another date with Nora on tonight's Being Human. Here are my live notes:
  • In the bar, Josh once again lets his nerves keep him from standing up for himself.
  • I'm not sure why Sally freaked out so much at being "one of them", sorry but you kind of are.
  • Does anyone else think it's creepy that Aiden is letting this little boy come home with him? Dangerous too, Aiden hasn't learned to completely control himself.
  • Nora likes making Josh uncomfortable a little too much, "I do love to watch you squirm, it's as though you're an artist and awkward is your medium."
  • Josh just likes to keep things awkward, "Hello there little friend ..."
  • Sally is way too angry about the whole ghost colony thing.
  • "That is so adorable I can't even be mad at you right now", good Sally, nobody likes you when you're angry.
  • "You feel wolfy", wow, maybe that'll help Josh get laid.
  • "When a woman wants to show you her apartment, it's usually just an excuse to get you in the bedroom", Josh is finally getting lucky!
  • Wow, of course Josh got too "wolfy" and screws up his chance again.
  • "I growled", nice description Josh.
  • Josh is finally taking the opportunity to get it on, in a weird, animalistic sort of way.
  • Aiden is so cute with that kid, but the kid's kind of weird. Besides, Aiden likes the three stooges? Really?
  • It's official, Aiden has a MILF admirer.
  • Right Nora, Josh is real "classy".
  • Aiden is 257?
  • Josh's transformation was pretty cool, first clear look we've gotten of a werewolf.
  • Holy crap, the kid saw the DVD of "two people screwing in a hotel." Being Human is really keeping it classy tonight!
  • "There he is, Mr. hit and run." Nora is obviously the wittier one in the relationship.
  • "I'm also not the kind of guy who mounts women spontaneously and has furious animal sex." I take that last one back.
So what did you think of this week's Being Human? Anything stick out to you? Tell me in the comments.

Caprica Marathon in January

3:10 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Now that the Syfy Caprica fan wars have cooled down, Syfy has released details about how Caprica will be ending it's run here in the United States. Syfy's Craig Engler just tweeted from the @Syfy account that Syfy will air Caprica's final five episodes in a marathon on Tuesday, January 4th, from 6 to 11 pm.

The airdate information for #Caprica's final 5 episodes has been confirmed: They will air back-to-back on Tues, Jan 4, from 6pm-11pm

This doesn't exactly seem like the ending Caprica deserves, but it's good to know that the episodes are going to air. It looks like Caprica will be getting a send off, even if it's a humble one.

Sanctuary: Trail of Blood Recap

7:42 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

The first ten minutes of Trail of Blood revolved around the team picking up a distress signal from a trapped Nikola Tesla, that led them to an old Cabal lab, where vampire source blood has turned a bunch of centipede-like bugs into giant, mutated, people eating centipede-like bugs. Weirded out yet?

When the team finds Tesla in a bunch of caves and tunnels in the Colombian Highlands, surrounded by a bunch of giant bugs (in case you forgot I mentioned it), Will is suspicious that they've let themselves be led into another one of Tesla's schemes. Score one for Will's intuition.

At the end of the episode it's revealed that Tesla was there searching for the vampire source blood (to turn himself back into a vampire), and Magnus isn't pleased. Eventually Tesla "sacrifices" himself to save the others from the bugs, only to live after using his newly obtained magnetic powers to shield himself from the explosion. Seams like a nice way to give Tesla a bit of chivalry without killing off the mildly amusing character (whose antics actually range from mildly amusing to just annoying).

Meanwhile, back at the Sanctuary, Bigfoot and Kate try to track down the killer of a priest who helped Bigfoot find the Sanctuary. The real killer is never caught, but from his reveal at the end of the episode, he'll probably be back.

Felicia Day is Red: Werewolf Hunter

8:39 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Tonight at 9PM (EST) on Syfy (also on Showcase in Canada), Felicia Day is drawing her guns again (for the first time since her appearance on Dollhouse) to kick some werewolf behind. On her Twitter, she promised that Red would feature "Blood and werewolf harpoons, yes!" Sounds like a winner to us. In an interview with io9, Day refused to reveal details about the plot or the werewolves' specific properties but did have something to say about her upcoming appearance on Eureka.

"I can tell you I'm in many, many episodes [of Eureka] - almost all of the back 10." She also told io9 that's she'll play "a very eccentric scientist who comes to Eureka to work on a secret project" who "has an antagonist relationship with Fargo and Will Wheaton, who plays Dr. Isaac Parrish."

Day, who normally stars on the internet web series The Guild, has taken a longer then normal break to appear in both Red: Werewolf Hunter and Eureka. At this time no information is available about the possibility of future episodes of The Guild.

Caprica: Gravedancing

Tonight at 9 (EST) on Syfy a new Caprica episode Gravedancing will delve even deeper into the life of the first cylon:
The Graystones attempt damage control while vengeance closes in on them.

Sanctuary: End of Nights (Part 2)

4:29 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Last night's Sanctuary episode End of Nights (Part 2) on SyFy was certainly an improvement on that last, but still leaves me with questions that they should probably have answered for those of us new to the show. Here is the official recap from SyFy:

Still reeling from a violent encounter with the transformed Ashley, Helen Magnus is determined to find answers about the Cabal and their plans for her daughter.

Certain that Kate is still withholding information, a furious Magnus demands to know who her contact is at the Cabal. Kate is acutely aware that, without Magnus and the Sanctuary, she will be killed by the Cabal, herself, and therefore relents, revealing her contact protocols to reach Dana Whitcomb.

The Cabal's true agenda to destroy the Sanctuary Network is disclosed when Dana gives Magnus an unthinkable ultimatum - save Ashley and hand over the Sanctuary Network, or prepare to fight an impossible battle against the Cabal and her own daughter.

To make their point, the Cabal unleashes its first attack on the Sanctuary Network, as Ashley plus two of her powerful clones quickly annihilate the Tokyo location, leaving behind little more than fiery ruins and a convincing message that war has begun.

The Sanctuary team is forced to quickly create lines of defense against Ashley and her clones, a team of fully transformed Super Abnormals with devastating powers. Along with her newly cloned fighters, Ashley begins her onslaught, setting out to destroy each Sanctuary around the world.

The team prepares a final defense against an impending assault on the last standing Sanctuary and Magnus knows that by unleashing the only weapon that could defeat the Cabal's attacks, she is also risking the life of her only daughter.

Sanctuary: End of Nights (Part 1)

1:39 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Last night's Sanctuary premier episode End of Nights (Part 1) on SyFy was interesting to say the least. SyFy's twitter account had something to say about jumping on board Sanctuary season two with no knowledge of the first season:
Q) @Acidbather How easy would it be to jump into Sanctuary season 2 if I've never watched anything from season 1? A) Pretty easy!
So with these words of encouragement I decided to give Sanctuary a shot, and boy was I confuzzled the whole way through. Here is the episode description provided by TV.com:
While desperately searching for Ashley, who remains in the hands of the Cabal, the Sanctuary team encounter a con artist named Kate Freelander. After her relationship with the Cabal went sour she gives Helen the location of a secret Cabal facility that may lead them to her Ashley.
Ok so Helen's daughter is missing for some reason and her genetic makeup has been altered to make her super powerful, but what was it that she was stealing and how can Ashley and her father, the big bald guy, teleport? And I was supposed to have figured out that the one guy was a vampire and the other a werewolf, and where does Will fit into all of this? If anyone figures it out, feel free to let me know, but it looks like SyFy isn't doing so well with this season of Sanctuary.

Eureka: Shower the People

8:16 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Tonight at 9 (EST) on SyFy we get a new episode of Eureka titled Shower the People:

Jack investigates the deaths of scientists who drowned in less than liquid circumstances. Meanwhile, Allison's baby shower goes green.

Warehouse 13 Scores In It's First Season

3:54 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Last night’s (August 18) episode of Warehouse 13 scored 3.27 million viewers in it's first season. Now Variety is reporting that SyFy has picked up the show for a second season of 13 episodes:
Unlike other Syfy series, “Warehouse 13″ has a near 50% female viewership and is performing better in its first season than the first season of “Battlestar Galactica,” which ended its four-season run in March.
Thirteen episodes have been ordered for season two and, as with “Battlestar,” that number could go up in subsequent seasons.
“We took a look at doing 20 episodes, but for logistic and financial reasons, it didn’t make sense to do that right now, but I wouldn’t rule it out,” Syfy president Dave Howe told Daily Variety.
It looks like Warehouse 13 is a success for SyFy channel (with 3.27 million viewers last episode it even beat out TNT's Saving Grace season finale).

Maybe SyFy Isn't So Bad

3:30 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

A few months back when NBC Universal announcing its plan to rebrand the SciFi Channel to SyFy they had their fair share of mockery, but it appears the name SyFy isn't just good for trademarking. The network, it appears, from a name change and a fresh coat of paint alone has drawn in a wider audience. According to TVbytheNumbers.com:

The early indications are that it’s working just like they planned it. Syfy just renewed Warehouse 13 which is the most-watched show in the network’s 17 year history according to Variety, averaging 3.7 million viewers per episode. Though I think that number is using “most current” ratings (a combination of live+7 data where available, plus live+sd data where it isn’t), rather than the commonly reported live+sd (live plus same day DVR viewing), most-watched is most-watched.

More revealing is that unlike most shows on the network, Warehouse 13, the first show launched since the rebranding, is attracting nearly as many women as men.

Maybe the name SyFy isn't so bad if it means ratings security for the shows we know and love.

Inhuman Entity on Ghost Hunters

7:19 PM Posted by DarknessFalls

Tonight at 9 (EST) on SyFy, Ghost Hunters returns with a new episode titled Inhuman Entity, not much is know about what this episode holds but SyFy says "T.A.P.S. returns to make history with the investigation of an eerie pre-Civil War landmark."

If SyFy says this episode will "make history" then let's hope this will be good.
